This grand-scale piece presenting Lenin as larger than life, is part of a collection believed to be from the Russian Embassy in Mexico, removed sometime in the late 1940s and later discovered in California, when the consignor paid in excess of $150,000 for the set. Vintage condition: will require preservation of original canvas to maintain the integrity of this grand-scale work. Dimensions: 5 Feet 9 inches wide by 7 feet 6 inches tall. Aleksandr Mikhailovich Gerasimov was a Soviet and Russian painter. He was a leading proponent of socialist realism in the visual arts and painted Joseph Stalin and other Soviet leaders.
